Operational Data Converted into Management Decisions

Shipment updates are useful only when they are accurate, timely, and connected to decisions. Sangjin structures shipment-level information and carrier performance into practical reports for operations teams and management.

Report Types

Three levels, each written for a different reader and a different decision.

Shipment status report

  • Reference number
  • Cargo
  • Route
  • Carrier
  • Planned and actual milestones
  • Current status
  • ETA
  • Exception
  • Decision required

Monthly account report

  • Shipment count
  • Managed freight spend
  • On-time pickup
  • On-time delivery
  • Exception count
  • Claims or damage
  • Carrier performance
  • Cost trends
  • Open corrective actions

Quarterly business review

  • Volume and lane trends
  • Carrier-panel performance
  • Service risks
  • Customer concentration
  • Process improvements
  • Upcoming capacity requirements
  • Recommended actions

Every KPI Is Defined Before It Is Measured

An undefined KPI produces arguments rather than decisions. Each measure carries the following before it appears on a report.

Formula
Exactly how the number is calculated, written down.
Data source
Which system, document, or confirmation the value comes from.
Owner
Who is responsible for producing and validating it.
Frequency
How often it is produced and as of when.
Target
The agreed performance level, set with the customer.
Exclusions
What is deliberately not counted, and why.
Corrective-action trigger
The threshold at which a corrective action is raised rather than noted.

Typical Measures

  • On-time pickup rate
  • On-time delivery rate
  • Carrier acceptance rate
  • Exception count by category
  • Exception resolution time
  • Documentation completeness
  • Claims and damage frequency
  • Managed freight spend by lane
  • Cost variance against plan
  • Corrective actions open and closed

Reporting reflects available data

Report content depends on the information each contracted provider can supply. Where a data source is not available for a lane, the measure is either excluded or its limitation is stated on the report. We do not publish figures the underlying data cannot support.

Our Operating Model

Clear Roles Reduce Operational and Compliance Risk

Sangjin does not represent itself as the physical carrier, customs broker, or warehouse operator. We manage the coordination layer, while licensed and qualified providers perform the regulated or asset-based services required for each shipment.

What Sangjin manages

  • Carrier sourcing and coordination
  • Shipment milestones
  • Exception escalation
  • Partner qualification
  • SOP development
  • Bilingual reporting
  • Account governance

What qualified partners perform

  • Physical transportation
  • Warehousing
  • Customs-broker-authorized activity
  • Specialized regulated services

Frequently asked questions

Can reports be produced in Korean as well as English?

Yes. Shipment status summaries, monthly account reports, and business review materials are produced bilingually where the account requires it, using consistent terminology across both languages so that figures are not reinterpreted in translation.

Bilingual Account Management

Can you report on carriers we contracted ourselves?

Yes. A management reporting programme can be layered over an existing transportation arrangement. The main constraint is data availability: what can be measured depends on what each carrier and site can confirm.

Carrier Sourcing & Qualification

What is "managed freight spend"?

The transportation cost across shipments within the managed programme. It is reported for visibility and trend analysis; it is not Sangjin revenue. Customers pay carriers directly, so freight charges never pass through our accounts.

Our Operating Model

How are targets set?

With the customer, based on lane characteristics and what the carrier panel can realistically deliver — not on a generic industry benchmark. A target no one believes is achievable produces neither improvement nor useful reporting.
